While the dream of the good life may be far fetched for many of us urban dwellers, one way of re-connecting with the way our food is produced is proving much more realistic.

Urban chickens are fast becoming a booming business. With an estimated 700,000 back garden chickens in the UK, interest in producing your own eggs looks like it's here to stay.

Catherine Jameson, part of the co-operative which runs Bramble Farm in Knowle West, looks at what it takes to become a back garden chicken farmer.
