Every year, first-grade students at David Elementary participate in the Citizenship in Action program, and this year, as part of their study of economics and volunteering, six first-grade classes raised $2,951.51 for the Interfaith of The Woodlands Food Pantry. Projects included writing books; selling lemonade, popsicles and cookies; making slime; selling photos; teaching dance lessons; and collecting cans to be recycled for cash.
