Houston home sales surge in March

Houston?s housing market sprang forward in March, with both sales activity and prices rising by 7.8 percent. The number of single-family home sales shot up to 4,996 in March, up from 4,634 a year ago, the Houston Association of Realtors said in a monthly report today. Sales activity rose for a 10th consecutive month. The median sales price hit $161,750, up from $150,000 in March 2011.
